Peer Teaching Lesson Plans

Two Peer teaching lesson were given on Effect of force and sound and its propagation in different mediums (class 8th) in GVM's Dr Dada Vaidya College of education, Farmagudi-Goa.

Experience: They were my first lesson in my College. I made many mistakes. For example I didn't give any explanation while teaching effect of force. My teacher told me my mistakes and I learnt and rectified my mistakes. Each lesson taught me many things. Now i know how to give lessons. It is true that everybody learns from experiences.

                         Class Lesson

Class lesson was done in Shri Kamakshi High School, on Separation of one solid from other for class 6th. Here is my lesson plan.

Experience: Since the lesson was full of activities students enjoyed and were active throughout my lesson. I learnt that there is a great difference between listening and doing the activity in real. Now students know the different separation methods well as they performed it in class. Activities consumed lots of time. I could not complete the entire lesson in one class, but I continued it in my next class.

Laboratory Lesson

Laboratory lesson was taken on Sedimentation and Decantation methods of separating insoluble solid from liquid for standard 6th students. Students in a group performed the two processes using different solids and filled the worksheets. 

Experience: Students learnt the two processes well. At the end during evaluation, students correctly gave the answers. Giving lab lesson is completely different from classroom lesson. It is time consuming but students are learning by doing experiment. While giving lab lesson, it is very important to give proper instructions to the students (especially Juniors) prior to the experiment

 Discussion Lesson

Discussion lesson was taken on water pollution for class 8th in Shri Kamakshi HIgh School. Students in a group were given different situation related to water pollution and were asked to write the answers of a given question. Then the topic was discussed based on their answers.

Experience: Discussion lesson was very effective. Students in a group wrote the interesting answers. Students already knew the causes and effects of water pollution. Each group told 5 preventive measures. Overall lesson was very interactive and I enjoyed a lot.

                             ICT Lesson

  ICT lesson was given on sexual Reproduction in plants in computer lab for class 7th. Animated-student Friendly Slides were made using power point presentation.

 Experience: Teaching using technology can show great effect on students. Students are very much interested in such lessons. Students actually learnt on their own through this lesson. Group discussed and filled the given worksheets correctly. I learnt to make animated slides which helps students to learn the topic. For me it was a new experience that is giving ICT lesson. ICT lesson can make our teaching easy and effective.
